Hi Everyone

We have 13 teams committed to play this season so each team will play a BYE during the season.  When scheduled to play Team #14, that is a BYE match and you will have to complete the round without an opponent, then record and turn in your scorecard in order to be awarded the 3 points for the match.  Our season runs 16 weeks from 5/21 through 9/3 with 3 Position nights so be sure to check the website standings page to determine which team and tee time to play for those matches.

Since Darow's has closed we have moved our sponsorship to Mooney's on Broadway in Alden.  We'll have use of the upstairs Game Room for our after league play get together and score recording,  They've offered food and drink specials as well.

The Spring meeting will be there on April 10th at 7 PM.  We'll need to have teams commit for the season then and also collect the $40 league fee.

A Fundraiser for Tom Landahl, who has subbed in our league last year and this year, has been organized to assist with the tremendous medical expenses he is saddled with as a result of a near fatal accident his daughter (Tamie) suffered while on vacation with her 9 year old son in Cozumel, Mexico.  Although medical personnel in Mexico provided initial treatment for her severe lacerations, broken bones and head trauma, they advised she needed an immediate medivac to the US because of possible v...

This year's Mid Season Party is scheduled for Tuesday, 7/14, at Darrow's after golf.  $10 gift cards will be issued (see Kevin Brzezinski) to all members who can use them to order off the menu on that day or any other they choose.  This change is made to address the concerns raised regarding timing and the menu offering.  Hope you are able to join us on the 14th, but if not, you won't miss out.

CHCC announces their 26th Annual Golf Appreciation Tournament.  See me for a registration form to submit to the course and to select one of these dates: Tuesday 9/16, Sunday 9/21, Thursday 9/25, Friday 9/26.  Cost is $44 if paid in advance or $49 if paid on day of event and includes golf & cart, Lunch, Hors D' Oeuvres, 1 hour open bar before dinner, Dinner and Prizes.  The 18 hole four-person scramble starts at 10 AM with check in 30 minutes before start.

Welcome back everyone!  Remenber we start at 4:04 PM this year and there is no league ahead of us so we must be ready to tee off on time.

There are 2 rule changes now in effect.  One is that handicap is based on 90% of the difference between your average and par. The other is maximum handicap is now at 24 for members at or turning 70 during this year.

Make sure someone turns in a scorecard for your match and enters the scores in the League Book at Darrow's after golf.

Hi Guys! It's March already and we're ready to plan for the season. Our season starts on May 15th.
 
The Spring Meeting is scheduled at Darrow's for 7 PM on Tuesday, April 3rd.  The League fee of $40 is unchanged and will be collected at the meeting.  Chestnut Hill has raised the greens fee to $20, but is starting our league at 4:08 PM (instead of 4:28 PM) so we will have a chance to play more extra holes afterwards.  Scheduling arrangements necessary for those working can be made if requested....

Well here we are – ready to start a new season.  Seems like it’s been way too long since we’ve been able to get out on the course as a group again.  The course is in great shape and the weather looks like it’s trying to do the same – at least on some days.
